I hope that my paintings reference a universal experience of being
alive that goes beyond language.
Shortlisted for Brighton Festival Fringe Visual Arts Prize. I’m trying to celebrate
the spaces in between our experience of life that can’t otherwise be pinned down
or quantified, and to express the beauty that is left in the space between words
and comprehension where there is the freedom to just be.
I attach a sense of journey to my paintings but I’m not trying to reproduce an emotion
or a landscape or an image ‘of’ something. I’m just trying to get to the inspiration
that can move me or stop me or shake me independently of my subjectivity so that
I can describe that process through my version of abstraction.
